Statistics for Network Experiments

An important activity in networking is gathering statistics about the network.

Here are some resources for lectures on the topic.

  1. The lecture notes on probability distributions are in distribs.pdf, but for some reason the log-log graph of the Zipf distribution doesn't properly appear; it's not too important, but if you want to see it, here is a postscript version: distribs.ps.
  2. Lecture nodes on statistics are here: statistics.pdf.
  3. There are many sources for tables of confidence levels; for instance, here is a table I copied from an online source: tdist.txt.
