How to give a realistic simulation of customers and queues?
Queueing Theory is based on observations from countless experiments on real situations, studying how customers, or more generally, discrete objects, behave in real time. Here are notes used in class to give an overview of queueing theory: qintro.pdf. We won't use all of these notes, and the earlier notes about probability distributions (Poisson, exponential in distribs.pdf) are also useful.
